METHODOLOGY USED TO THE EXPLOITATION OF CAPRI PROJECT RESULTS

Exploitation activities aim at successfully implementing the project results in research and industry, whereas the market uptake measures aim to ensure the market adoption of the products developed in the project.

MONDRAGON SISTEMAS DE INFORMACIÓN (MSI) is leading the WP7 efforts acting as the Exploitation and Market Manager of CAPRI project, coordinating and supervising all the related activities.

An Exploitation Methodology plan serve the purpose to jointly plan, monitor, assess and report on exploitation activities. This publication will explain the important step of designing an exploitation methodology based on three phases, each composed of 2 steps: Solution definition, Market feedback and Exploitation plan.

Let’s start the study starting with the following questions:

These questions will be answered during the execution of the whole Work Package.

-       Phase I: Solution definition, focused on identification of available technical solutions in the actual scope of the project and with a first focus on the new market segments. It contains the identification of Key Exploitable Results (KERs). This will be done in a very practical way with a workshop approach with all project partners and applying the available methodologies like Canvas Business Model with special attention to the Value Proposition Definition.

-       Phase II: Market feedback, aims at defining a new market segment with the similar pains which can be resolved with the developed solutions. An analysis of the macro-economic landscape must be conducted to evaluate the strategic fit of the suggested KERs to the market This analysis must be validated with a more detailed market study to ensure if this mental scheme is also recognised by players in the market. The market study should be set up in such a way that as a result the Canvas Business Model can be completed in a detailed manner afterwards.

-       Phase III: Exploitation plan, involves strategic implementation tools to maximise the impact of the project results, then must be checked whether there is an economic viability by estimating the implantation costs and the expected incomes.

Taking into account the period we are in CAPRI Project, the first stage of our Exploitation Methodology, Solution Definition, has ended. Which includes the identification of the main Key Exploitable Results (KER’s), taking into account the four sectors involved in the project (ASPHALT, STEEL, PHARMA and CAP) and a first version of the CANVAS Business Model has been worked with all the partners.

On the other hand, the second stage of the exposed methodology, Market Feedback, has begun, which has involved a prior market analysis of each KER.

At the beginning of 2023 new Workshops will be taken to start thinking in the Exploitation Plan of each KER.
